Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for Worship, followed by Second Hour (Sunday School) September to June. In July and August, join us at 10:00 a.m. for our service (there is no second hour in the summer).
WHAT DO MENNONITES BELIEVE?
At the center of Mennonite faith is affirmation of Jesus Christ as the model for life and as One who died and rose so we can live in union with God. Mennonites want to keep Christ’s life and ministry alive in the world. This is why we refer to the church as the "Body of Christ."

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Our Sunday service begins at 9:30 am (10:00 am in July and August). The service is around 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
Our main carport entrance is handicapped accessible and an elevator lift services each floor of our building. You will be welcomed at the door by members of our congregation who volunteer to be greeters. They can answer any questions you may have and can direct you to our Welcome Desk.
At the Welcome Desk you can request a hearing aid, pick up an activity bag for your children, learn about Second Hour, and get information about what is going on at Salford.

Child care for newborns through 2 years old is available in our church nursery located just off the main foyer entrance area. Children are cared for by adults volunteers who have had state-mandated safety clearances.
Children are welcome in worship. We're used to having kids around! What should I wear? Folks at Salford wear anything from shorts to suits. Just come as you are. OUR WORSHIP SERVICE Includes scripture, preaching, shared prayer, instrumental music and spirited singing. Singing includes four-part harmony, often a capella (without instruments) and from a hymnal, a distinct part of the service. Children are welcome during the entire service and silence is not expected. Children's Time is part of each service and includes a bulletin for children. Learn more about our worship service here. DO YOU HAVE SUNDAY SCHOOL? Yes, "Second Hour" at Salford runs throughout the year excluding the months of July and August. It follows the worship service and concludes by 11:45 am. Children: Classes for children meet downstairs across from the Fellowship Hall. Youth: Junior High (grades 6-8) meets upstairs behind the sanctuary and has an average attendance of 10-15. Senior High (grades 9-12) meets in the historic schoolhouse across the parking lot from the main building. Senior High also has an average attendance of 10-15. Visit the Welcome Desk for an escort and introduction to either class. More about the youth groups’ activities can be found here. Adults: There are a variety of adult class topics where all ages are welcome. See the Second Hour page above for more information. |
WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN SUNDAY SCHOOL AND THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
There are coffee and tea stations on the level below and above our main foyer and most people use this time to talk and greet each other. This is a great time to learn about where the Second Hour classes are or ask for a quick tour of the church. Stop by the Welcome Desk if you need anything. Second Hour classes are gracious with their start times so feel free to use the restroom or find your or your childrens’ classrooms.
BUT REALLY, WHO IS THE SALFORD MENNONITE COMMUNITY?
The Salford congregation was established in 1717 by Swiss-German immigrants. Initially, families gathered in their homes and barns for worship until a simple meetinghouse was built by 1728. Throughout the years, the congregation has been known for simplicity, frugality, hard work and thrift. Those values are still important to us today.
Now, as our surrounding community has experienced growth and change, the congregation has members from a variety of backgrounds. As we look to the future, we want to continue to promote and live Anabaptist-Christian values such as discipleship (following Jesus), peaceful living, mutual aid and accountability. We seek to be hospitable and welcoming to everyone. We invite you to join us!
