Garden Outreach
The Garden Outreach Ministry Team exists to honor God and offer hospitality to our community through the growing of fresh local produce. This team tends a one acre garden on church property and grows a variety of produce for those in need. Each winter a garden fundraiser dinner is held at Salford to pay for seed and supplies. Work team from Salford volunteer time and labor to plant, weed, water, and harvest the garden. Produce harvested from the garden is donated to individuals in need our community and local nonprofit agencies like Manna on Mainstreet (Lansdale), Liberty Ministries (Schwenksville), New Life Youth & Family Services (Harleysville), the Harleysville Senior Care Center, Norristown New Mennonite Life Church and Salford Child Care Centers.
Starting July 16th, Saturday mornings, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. is "open picking" time when you as neighbors and friends from the community are welcome to come pick produce for your own use, or to help with our regular picking for distribution.
